DCSC is a Demand Controlled Semi-Closed Breathing System for mine-clearance operations. DCSC is a further development of the renown and proven ACSC. DCSC is a further development of the renown and proven ACSC. DCSC and its predecessor have been in use for many years with an excellent track record.

DCSC is extremely easy to operate and quick to deploy. The Work of Breath (WOB) is very low due to three important design features:

Weight compensated bellow. The bellow compensates regardless
of the divers position in water.
Radial scrubber canister design – increasing the surface and reducing
the thickness of the soda lime layer to reduce the breathing resistance.
The entire breathing circuit is designed with large bores to increase the
flow capacity.

The set is neutral in water enabling ease and exactness in all diving procedures. Maintenance costs are low and service can be done with few tools. Field test equipment is easy to operate and the documentation is precise and easy to follow. The DCSC is characterized by its high reliability and operational availability

The system has been used in diving under active service conditions to 150 meters depth, and in simulator down to 450 meters. The DCSC system has been used for more than 10.000 dives.

Apart from an excellent magnetic signature and acoustic qualities the safety aspects has been given the highest priority. Warning device, bypass, and a separate harness life jacket ensure comfortable handling and safe diving.

key features of the dcsc
Dosage of gas to the breathing circuit is mechanically demand regulated.
The dosage unit controls the oxygen concentration with small variations regardless of depth, oxygen consumption or working conditions. Gas consumption remains the same regardless of diving depth.
Breathing bellows are hydrostatically balanced. Hydrostatically balanced breathing
bellows gives excellent breathing comfort at all altitudes.
Breathing hoses and circuit have large flow areas. Large flow areas gives the
lowest possible breathing resistance.
Only two gas mixtures are necessary for diving from 0 to 56 m due to the unique
dosage system. In regard to backup and charging it simplifies logistics. The gas cylinder has a 5 litre volume and 20 MPa charging pressure.
Uniquely designed absorber unit that can be loaded in advance. The absorber unit
is centrally placed in the housing to insulate from cold water and function as a water trap.
The hydrostatic valve prevents the diver and apparatus from getting squeezed during
rapid descent. The hydrostatic valve has an additional function as an automatically operating buoyancy control valve. The apparatus has a neutrally buoyancy in water.
The apparatus has a built-in warning if a malfunction occurs in the gas dosing
system and manual by-pass. Single breathing gas charge ensures that the diver always receives breathable gas should a failure occur in the regulator or dosage system. A built-in warning indicates low breathing gas supply (approx. 10 min. rem.).
The apparatus can be used with a face mask or with a mouthpiece. The face mask
has a connector for microphone. The mouthpiece and the face mask have a gastight shut-off valve in the mask connector.
The apparatus does not have a harness, but is hooked onto a lightweight carrier
frame with a snap lock. The standard carrier frame is equipped with two supporting air cylinders for life jacket and dry suit. A one-litre compressed air cylinder is fastened to the carrier frame to supply air to a dry suit or life jacket.

All main parts can be assembled without tools. It is simple to operate and maintain.. The system is very fast to deploy, the check out time before time is very short.
